iRobot is bringing some new household toys to CES 2011 in Las Vegas this week: the Scooba 230 washer and the sixth-generation of that lovable Roomba vacuum.
The Scooba 230 (pictured right) stands 3.5-inches tall and measures 6.5-inches in diameter, making it easier wash amongst narrow spaces - particularly around bathroom fixtures. Using only clean water to wash floors, the Scooba 230 can cover up to 150 square feet of linoleum, tile or sealed hardwood floors during a single session.The Roomba 700 Series (pictured above and yes, actually the sixth generation if you’re confused about the numbering) has a number of internal improvements, starting with an updated power management software to maximize the battery life and cleaning cycles. Now able to clean up 20% more fine particles, the Roomba 700 Series sports an AeroVac Series 2 bin with a powerful vacuum that “maximizes air flow through Roomba’s cleaning head to pull more hair and debris off the brushes and into the bin.”
The Roomba 770 and 780, in particular, host light indicators that alert the owner to a full bin, and the 780 also features a touchpad interface.
Gearing up to roll out to homes this spring, the Scooba 230 will cost $299.99 and the Roomba 700 Series will start at $449.99.
